Adventure through the ancient landscape of North India. Start by visiting one of the greatest wonders of the world – the Taj Mahal. From there take a journey that will awaken your spirit as you visit the holy Ganges river and even bath in the exquisitely vibrant headwaters. Meditate in caves that ancient seers meditated in as well as visit the Tibetan Buddhist community in Dharamsala, a beautiful little town that lies nestled against the Himalayas. Visit Namygal monastery which is known for being the home to His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Perhaps even receive a blessing from him! Truly an experience of a lifetime!
Day 1 - 2: Delhi
On arrival at the New Delhi airport, you will be transferred to the hotel and we will assist you for a smooth check in. Delhi, the vibrant capital of India, highlights the remarkable contrast between ancient core of Shahjahan’s city in the north and the late British capital of New Delhi to its south. Evening visit the Bangla Sahib Gurudwara, located in close proximity to your hotel or enjoy some shopping in the local markets.
After breakfast at the hotel the following day, begin with blessings from the Laxminarayan Temple, and proceed for your guided tour of New Delhi. Visit the 1565 built UNESCO world heritage site Humayun’s Tomb, later drive past the President’s house, India Gate and the government buildings. After lunch, visit the Red Fort and later take the cycle- rickshaw ride through the busiest lanes of the colourful and bustling Chandni Chowk Market in Old Delhi.
Day 3 - 4: Agra
Visit Agra, home to the world’s most famous symbol of love, the Taj Mahal. Stand in awe as you witness its marble beauty up close, followed by a visit to the imposing Agra Fort. The city’s rich Mughal heritage will captivate you. Spend your evening relaxing and soaking in the magic of Agra.
Day 5: Haridwar
Journey to Haridwar, a sacred city where the Ganges River flows with divine energy. As the sun sets, join thousands of pilgrims at Har Ki Pauri for the mesmerizing Ganga Aarti, a ceremony of light and devotion that will stir your soul. Haridwar’s spiritual ambiance sets the stage for the days ahead.
Day 6 - 7: Rishikesh
Start your day with visits to the temples of Haridwar, then travel to Rishikesh, the world’s Yoga Capital and a haven for seekers and travelers alike. On the way take a dip into the Ganges up north where the water is clean and vibrant.
Visit the iconic Laxman Jhula and Ram Jhula bridges. In the afternoon, step into the world of the Beatles at the famous Beatles Ashram (Chaurasi Kutia). Explore the graffiti-filled walls and meditation huts where the legendary band once sought spiritual enlightenment. The ashram’s peaceful atmosphere and creative energy will inspire you. Spend your evening in reflection by the Ganges, absorbing the magic of this sacred place.
In the evening, experience the enchanting Ganga Aarti at Triveni Ghat. Rishikesh is where spirituality meets adventure, and its energy will leave you rejuvenated.
Day 8 - 9: Varanasi
Fly to Varanasi, one of the oldest living cities in the world and the spiritual heart of India. In the evening, join thousands of devotees for the powerful Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat. Varanasi’s ancient rituals and vibrant energy will ignite something deep within you.
The next morning begin your day with an unforgettable sunrise boat ride on the Ganges, where you’ll witness life’s rituals along the sacred riverbanks. Visit the Kashi Vishwanath Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, and spend the afternoon exploring Varanasi’s narrow lanes filled with temples and vibrant culture.
Then travel to Sarnath, where Buddha delivered his first sermon after attaining enlightenment. Explore the Dhamek Stupa, Chaukhandi Stupa, and Sarnath Museum, filled with Buddhist relics. Return to Varanasi in the afternoon for further exploration or relaxation. Another evening Ganga Aarti will deepen your spiritual connection to this sacred city.
Day 10 - 13: Dharamsala
Fly to Dharamsala, the spiritual center of Tibetan Buddhism in India. After arriving, explore McLeod Ganj, the home of the Dalai Lama, and visit the serene Dalai Lama Temple Complex. The peaceful atmosphere of Dharamsala, nestled in the Himalayas, will refresh your spirit.
Immerse yourself in Tibetan culture with visits to Namgyal Monastery and the Tibetan Museum. Continue your journey at the Norbulingka Institute, dedicated to preserving Tibetan art and culture. End your day with a visit to the tranquil Gyuto Monastery, where spirituality and serenity come together in perfect harmony.
Day 14: Departure
Fly back to Delhi for your final day in India. Use the afternoon to shop in bustling markets or explore hidden gems of the city. In the evening, share a farewell dinner with your fellow travelers, celebrating the unforgettable experiences you’ve shared on this sacred journey.
